Yes Kirti..not only the fridge..even the containers we use to store our grocery. As soon a particular item is over we should wash and dry the container. The pulses remain fresher and cleaner.

Keeping the fridge clean at all times is a must. And also keeping a check on all the old foods that are stored and some how forgotten. When we store limited leftovers in the fridge, it is easier to maintain it's hygiene. Food should be used within 48 hours, even after refrigerating. If older than that, it should be tossed out.

We can make our own ice cubes with purified water and can take juices at home. But outside, we should refrain from this habit.

On reaching home from outside errands I wash my hands and feet. This is a hygienical way to ensure that outside germs are not brought into the home.
Always remember to wash your hands before you eat anything; but do not overdo it. A British doctor at my former company's clinic always used to head to the washroom after bringing in a tray full of food at the diner. There he would scrub both his hand with liquid soap for minutes together. But I do not think that he was the healthiest man aline ever.
Whenever we go out to dine, we must avoid the drinks that have added ice in it. The ice that the restaurants use are mostly bought from out and there are no hygiene rules followed while forming that ice slab and transporting it to all over.
Teach your children on health and hygiene practices to be followed after a shower bath to cut the nails, clean the ears with ear buds.
Weekly once, oil bath is good for children and adults. A tablespoon of oil massaged in the middle of the head and leave it for 15 minutes and then go for a shampoo or shikakai powder wash. Also apply oil in the body and naval every week. This keeps you healthy and cool and also helps in easy blood circulation.
Whenever we go out to the market or to the malls and we are out for a long time we should avoid touching our face. Our hands get contaminated by pressing the buttons in the lift, door knobs, railings and so many things without even realizing and when we keep touching our face with the same hands the germs go all over our face and sometimes we get eye infections due to that.
