Sleep Tips

If you have trouble sleeping, avoid naps, especially in the afternoon. Power napping may help you get through the day, but if you find that you can't fall asleep at bedtime, eliminating even short catnaps may help.

Keeping regular sleep times is as important as the amount of sleep you get. A scientific report says that college students who did not keep regular bedtime and wake times did worse academically and had poorer grade points, on average.

It is not advisable health-wise to sleep in a room where the air-conditioner if switched on. It will be better not to get the coolness directly from the AC. In case you want the AC to switched on, let it be for some time, and then switch it off before you sleep.

If not able to sleep, drink a cup of cold milk, it will make you feel cool. And will help you to sleep. Please note- if having cough problem do not drink cold milk as one can have the coughing problem.

Wash your legs before going to bed at night. Drink a cup of warm milk. Read some good articles, and then listen to your favourite music. You will get perfect sleep.

Keep a pillow curdled in your arms and sleep for longer hours.

Some of things i do that work for me to get a good nights sleep:

- Having dinner by 7:30 since bedtime is around 10:00.
- Having a warm cup of milk just before going to bed.
- Not seeing TV at night.(weekend are exceptions)
- Listening to instrumental music. (My daughters play the guitar and piano and it is a good family activity )
- Reading a couple of pages from a book, magazine, newspaper.

It works very well for me.

Healthy food gives a pleasant sleep. So let 70% of our daily food be healthy and home cooked.

Try to drink a glass of warm milk before sleeping. Try to lie down in bed flat, with cooling eye masks over your closed eyes. Relax your mind away from all stress. Feel the chillness on your eyes. You will soon get your sleep.

To get a quality sleep, one can meditate and surrender our ego to God before sleep.

Sleep comes easily to those who do physically tiring work. And, it comes as a blessing to those who are mentally tired.

Going to bed at a fixed time is one good way of getting good sleep. It becomes habitual and you are overcome by the sly sleep within a few minutes of hitting the bed.

8 hours sleep is a must. Have a hot glass of milk after dinner and read a book. After sometime one goes to sleep.

Sleep early and wake up early is the mantra for good health. Switch of all the lights , do meditation in lying position and think of all the blessings of the day.

To get proper sleep in time one should avoid watching TV or looking at the screen before going to sleep. You must shut down your PC, TV or any other screens that you watch half an hour before going to bed.

As you get sleep in your eyes, go to bed, relax and switch off all the lights.

End of the day, on the bed to sleep, a simple prayer of thanks giving to God, and simple surrender of all our good/bad to God would relieve our heart from stress.....and it brings good sleep . Please try.

After prayers and meditation, taking our mind to any of our cute childhood photo brings inner happiness......and it embraces​ quality sleep.

An easy way to induce sleep is to turn off the lights in the bedroom, switch on the fans, then simply go and lay on the bed, close thy eyes, and empty thou mind. The dark and cool room send a quick signal to our brains that it is time to sleep. This technique can be tried even during the afternoon time and you will be pleasantly surprised with the quick results.

Sleep early and wake up early in the morning to keep you bright and fit for the new day.

I've found that laying down on the bed with my eyes closed always helps me fall asleep a lot faster. Especially if the lights are switched off and it's all dark in the room.
